Herbal and Home Remedies for Treatment of Intestinal Worms

Some of the home remedies are:

  • The first step for the treatment of intestinal worms begins with a proper diet. The person suffering should be given lot of fresh fruits to eat, for at least four to five days. Thereafter he may start a well-balanced light diet consisting mainly of fruits, vegetables, milk and whole meal bread. The diet should exclude fatty or other bulky foods such as butter, cream, and oil, and all flesh foods.

  • Grated Carrot - You may take a cup of grated Carrot in the morning one hour before breakfast, for at least four to five days.
  • Papaya - Papaya juice mixed with 1 teaspoon of honey may be taken in the morning.
  • Seeds of Gourd - 200 mg of seeds of bitter gourd (tumbi) taken daily with buttermilk are also good for intestinal worms.
  • Haridra (Curcuma Longa) - Haridra has proved to be very helpful in treating intestinal worms - if the powder of rhizome of this plant is given 1 teaspoon each, 3 times daily, mixed in a cup of milk.
  • Castor Oil - You may also give a glass of warm milk with 1 teaspoon of castor oil for at least 2 days.

    CAUTION: Castor oil should not be given to children below 5 years of age. Do not give the person anything to eat before and during the treatment.
  • Pomegranate Leaves - Take a handful of pomegranate leaves and crush them, after that boil them with a glass of milk. Drink half of it early in the morning, empty stomach. And rest of it drink after two hours.
  • Mandar - Tender leaves of the indian coral, mandar when given with honey is very helpful for treating intestinal worms.

Other Herbs Good for Intestinal Worms:

  • Vasaka.
  • Coconut.
  • Garlic.
